Preston West Primary is located in a residential area of Darebin in close proximity to the Preston Market and High Street shopping precinct. The main school is a double storey brick building that was built in 1915. The addition of our new hall, surrounding landscaped garden and a dry creek river bed are fantastic assets to the school. Preston West Primary has a rich history of educational excellence serving the community for over 95 years.

Our purpose is to provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment that develops all students to their full potential - academically, socially and personally. We instil in children a lifelong love of learning. Our strong academic focus is supported by a multitude of extra curricula activities and our specialist teachers conduct programs in intervention, Physical Education, Visual Arts, English as a Second Language (ESL), Music and LOTE (Italian). Preston West is committed to improving the achievement of all students through the provision of challenging and engaging academic program based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standard (VELS) and reflecting world wide best practice for 21st century learners. Tours for 2012 Prep students will be conducted on Wednesday mornings at 10am throughout Term 2. Bookings for these tours can be made via our general office.
